I’m pleased to report that the BWW has had a very good quarter. I’m meeting with the financial advisory committee today to look at the numbers and plan for the second half of 2014. We need volunteers to open the BWW writing center on Wednesday and Thursday mornings and Thursday afternoons through the month of July. Can you help? If so, please contact me.

Attention Flynn Center bloggers! The new season is coming, and the Flynn Center is hosting an event on July 8th to preview the season. RSVP at the Flynn Center’s website.
Today is the last day to submit work for the Hotel Vermont book. Send your short fiction, nonfiction, and poetry to submissions@burlingtonwritersworkshop.com. Also, if anyone is interested in helping with the selection process, please contact me.
Announcements
We’ve installed a new desk at the BWW. It fits nicely into the corner of the workshop space. Rob Lietar designed it and Sterling Hardwoods built it for us. Rob imagined a place where two people could work independently and then, if needed, come together in the middle. We’ll be acquiring a large, flat-screen monitor to allow for this kind of collaborative work (which will be especially helpful for the digital storytelling workshops).
Drake (pictured), who hangs out at the workshop from time to time, has had trouble with productivity lately, due to his lack of thumbs and, of course, writer’s block.
